The 2019 World Jump Rope Championships have just concluded in Norway, with a swag of medals awarded to Aussie competitors.
Cleveland Air Magic, Jazzy Jumpers, Hot Shots Skipping Association, Pumper Jumpers, Darwin, Bayside Skippers Inc and Northbridge Knockouts all sent along skippers to the last-ever World Jump Rope Federation world event to represent Australia.
Following the merger of FISAC-IRSF and WJRF, a combined IJRU World Championships event will be held in 2020.
So there was much excitement among the Australian contingent to take part in this farewell gathering at Oslofjord Convention Center.
The Knockouts’ Jeremy English scored a Bronze medal for 30-second speed at World Jump Rope and a Gold Medal for Triple Unders.
He went on to compete in the Grand World Champion section, were the top finishers in the World Age Division Event Championship re-compete in a special competition to determine the “Grand World Champion” for each event.
Jeremy went on to win Gold again after jumping a massive 409 triple unders, way ahead of the silver medallist! An amazing result that our Head Coach TK said was “earned it in a very hard way but was worth it”.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Air Magic picked up so many medals throughout the competition that our heads are too dizzy to list them all. Here are their Grand World Champion ones:

We were also incredibly excited to learn that the IJRU World Championships 2020 will be held in Ottawa, Canada.

But the Northbridge Knockouts still have States and Nationals to go before then!
States will be held in Canberra on August 31-September 1, while Nationals will be in Sydney the following month. Stay tuned for more details!
Congratulations to all the Aussie medallists from 2019 World Jump Rope Championships and to our Knockouts members who participated. We are so proud of you.
And thank you to TK for all the hard work he does both for the Knockouts and for the sport of skipping generally.
PS Please let us know if we’ve missed any highlights!
